Making the Best Fat Bikes Since 2013
I was first impressed on speed of arrival. Next it was packaged well. One thing I would say, must have some bike mechanic tools and some experience to assemble, which I love, but does require some knowledge. And finally, the bike itself. It’s ohh..soooo.sweet. I never weighed it, but it’s at least 5 pounds lighter than my other bike. It rides like a dream
Flume (Alloy) - Large Crimson & Gold w/ RC Green Fork
I absolutely love this bike! The lightweight and superb geometry make it amazing on single track. I don't miss my EMTB at all and I can't wait to ride it this Winter!
Shipping was fast just 2-3 days, everything arrived as expected and in good shape. Assembly was easy after watching the videos a few times, hardest part was seating the tires on the rim (setup with included tubes). I’m new to SRAM so a bit of learning curve threading in the cassette far enough to have sufficient clearance for the highest gear/smallest rear cog)…got it done.
My only concern are the brakes, seems a lot of travel on the levers for new brakes (over an inch or more)…may need to bleed the brakes? I’m contacting support to see next steps.
Wasn't sure what to expect with this being my first fat bike and all but damn I'm impressed. The Crestone feels much lighter than I thought, even with the bigger 120mm fork, and still very planted. The green paint is gorgeous, and the components are top notch. I shopped quite a few other fat bikes and none of them came close in terms of parts spec and craftsmanship for the money. Plus, they're based out of CO and it's always nice to support local! I had a couple last minute add-ons and Steve was quick to reply and get it taken care of before I arrived for pick up. I normally ride a size large gravel bike but I sized down to a medium and it worked perfectly. Can't wait to put many more miles on this thing!
